This Policy explains what information we collect when you use the TOURNAMENT website at tournament.com, the TOURNAMENT game client, and every related service (together, the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms.
The Service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and if we learn that we have, we delete it and close the account.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Account information. When you sign in through our authentication provider (currently Privy) we receive an identifier for you, the email address or other sign-in method you verified, and the public addresses of the wallets created for you. You choose a username and may choose an avatar. We keep the username and the email address on the account.
1.2 Wallet and transaction information. The public addresses of Your Wallet and of any house wallet associated with your account; your Game Balance and every credit, debit, move, withdrawal and reward on it; the permission you give us to move funds from Your Wallet and when you gave or withdrew it; your auto-move setting; and blockchain transaction identifiers, amounts, counterpart addresses and timestamps for transactions that involve those addresses. Blockchain transactions are public by design (see Section 6).
1.3 Gameplay information. Everything the game generates: matches joined, rooms, regions, maps, modes, scores, kills, deaths, weapons, accuracy, streaks, leaderboard positions, session times, inputs and their timing, movement, positions, latency and packet statistics, reconnections, and chat and other messages you send.
1.4 Anti-cheat and integrity information. Input patterns, timing distributions, network characteristics, client integrity signals, device and browser characteristics, and the outputs of our automated and human review of that data.
1.5 Technical information. IP address, approximate location derived from it, country and region, device type, operating system, browser, screen size, language, referrer, the pages and screens you use, timestamps, error reports, performance measurements, and identifiers stored in your browser (see Section 8).
1.6 Communications. Emails we send you and whether they were delivered or opened, messages you send to support, legal or privacy addresses, and friend requests and social connections you make on the Service.
1.7 Verification information. If we ask you to verify your identity, age, location or source of funds, the documents and information you provide and the results of any checks, which may be carried out by a third-party provider.
1.8 Information from others. Information from our authentication, wallet, blockchain data, conversion, anti-fraud, sanctions-screening and analytics providers about you, your wallets, your transactions and your use of the Service.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- (a)create and run your account, sign you in, and provide the Service, including matchmaking, gameplay, leaderboards, kill feeds, profiles, friends and chat;
- (b)operate the Game Balance, Your Wallet integration, moves, withdrawals and rewards, and to send transactional emails such as welcome, money arrived, withdrawal and friend request messages;
- (c)detect, investigate and prevent cheating, fraud, abuse, money laundering, sanctions breaches and use from restricted territories or by people under 18, and to enforce our Terms;
- (d)keep the Service secure, measure and improve latency and performance, choose a nearby server, diagnose faults, and develop new features;
- (e)analyse how the Service is used, in aggregate and individually;
- (f)comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
- (g)contact you about the Service, changes to our terms, and, if you have not opted out, news and promotions;
- (h)publish gameplay: your username, avatar, statistics, leaderboard position, kills and matches may be shown to other users and the public and may be included in streams, recordings and promotion.
Legal bases (where the GDPR, the UK GDPR or a similar law applies). We process information to perform our contract with you (a, b), for our legitimate interests in running a fair, secure and lawful service and in promoting it (c, d, e, h), to comply with legal obligations (c, f), and with your consent where we ask for it (g for marketing, and any optional feature). Where we rely on legitimate interests we have balanced them against your rights.
3. Automated decisions
We use automated systems to detect cheating and abuse and to flag or restrict accounts. Decisions such as removing a player from a match, holding winnings for a fairness review, or suspending an account are made by those systems and are final under the Terms. The fairness review of a hold is automated and final; there is no contest or appeal path in the Service, and a hold that reaches no confident decision is released on its own.
4. Who we share information with
4.1 Service providers acting for us: authentication and wallet infrastructure (Privy), blockchain RPC and event providers (for example Helius), asset conversion (for example Relay), cloud hosting and databases (Amazon Web Services), content delivery and security (Cloudflare), email delivery (Resend), analytics, error reporting, anti-fraud, sanctions screening and identity verification providers, and professional advisers. They may only use information to provide their services to us.
4.2 Other users and the public: your username, avatar, statistics, leaderboard position, matches, kills and chat are visible to other users, and may be visible to the public and in streams and recordings.
4.3 Blockchain networks: transactions involving Your Wallet or our wallets are broadcast to public blockchains and are visible to anyone.
4.4 Anti-cheat and integrity partners: we may share information about cheating, fraud or abuse with other operators, anti-cheat networks and industry bodies.
4.5 Authorities and legal: regulators, courts, law enforcement and others where the law requires, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property or safety of us, our users or others.
4.6 Corporate transactions: a buyer, investor, successor or affiliate in connection with a merger, financing, reorganisation or sale of all or part of our business.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. International transfers
We are incorporated in the British Virgin Islands and our providers process information in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom and other countries where they operate; our game servers run in many countries so that you can play near you. Where a law requires safeguards for transfers, we rely on the transfer mechanisms that law recognises, such as standard contractual clauses, and on the protections in our contracts with providers. By using the Service you acknowledge that your information will be transferred to and processed in these countries.
6. Blockchain information
Blockchains are public, permanent and outside our control. Once a transaction involving Your Wallet is broadcast, the addresses, amounts and timestamps cannot be changed or deleted by us or anyone. Your rights under Section 9 do not extend to information recorded on a blockchain.
7. Retention
We keep account, balance, transaction, verification, anti-cheat and communications records for as long as your account is open and for at least seven years afterwards, or longer where a law, investigation or claim requires, because we need them to meet legal, accounting, anti-fraud and dispute obligations. We keep gameplay statistics for as long as they are part of the Service's history. Technical logs are kept for shorter periods, usually under twelve months. When information is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.
8. Cookies and local storage
The Service uses cookies, local storage and similar technologies that are necessary to sign you in, keep your session, remember your settings (such as region, sound, theme and cached game files), protect against abuse, and measure performance. Our authentication provider and content delivery and security providers set their own necessary cookies. We may use analytics technologies to understand use of the Service. You can control cookies and local storage through your browser; blocking necessary ones will stop parts of the Service working.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy in a portable form, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data protection authority. You can exercise these rights by emailing privacy@tournament.com from the address on your account. We may need to verify your identity and may refuse or limit a request where a law allows, including where we must keep records for legal, accounting, anti-fraud or dispute purposes, or where information is on a blockchain.
Marketing. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the link in the email or by contacting privacy@tournament.com. We will still send transactional and service messages.
Account closure. You may close your account by contacting support@tournament.com.
British Virgin Islands. You have rights under the Data Protection Act, 2021 of the British Virgin Islands, including to complain to the Office of the Information Commissioner.
European Economic Area and United Kingdom. You have the rights set out in the GDPR and UK GDPR. You may complain to your local supervisory authority.
California and other US states. Residents of some states have rights to know, access, delete, correct and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. Security
We protect information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit, private networking for our databases, access controls, secret management, logging and monitoring, and review of our providers. No system is perfectly secure, and you are responsible for the security of your sign-in method, email, devices and Your Wallet keys. Tell us at once at privacy@tournament.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
11. Children
The Service is not directed at, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact privacy@tournament.com and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may change this Policy at any time by posting the new version on the Service with a new effective date. Material changes may also be announced by email or in the Service. Your continued use after a change is your acceptance of it.
